Personal Career Counselling and Assessment Service
The “Career Map” service is CREAM of the Crop’s most comprehensive career counselling and assessment service designed to provide detailed feedback for an individual to assist in their career decision making. Occupational assessments have been used for job selection and counselling for over fifty years. Many tests can be traced back to pioneering work of the Armed Forces and organisations like the National Institute of Industrial Psychology (NIIP) who developed a wide range of tests designed for use in selection and placement.
CREAM of the Crop’s Career Map service will include a wide ranging assessment of the individual’s career interests. This will involve face to face consultations with the individual, plus the use of internationally regarded assessment tools, which importantly will provide validated evidence of the abilities and personal behavioural characteristics of the person.
In order to ensure that chosen career or educational paths are attainable, it is critical to determine that a Client can demonstrate suitable abilities and workplace behaviours that match the competencies of the job that they seek. All too often candidates apply for positions that they consider highly desirable, only to be rejected because their skill set or general ability is not compatible with the occupation’s needs. This process leads to frustration and reduced self esteem, and eventually contributes towards lack of motivation.
Career Map will enable us to confidently and objectively assess the occupational capabilities of our clients. In addition to personal discussion with a senior consultant a proportion of the assessment process will utilize psychometric products which are scientifically researched and validated. The ability and personality profiles utilized within this support service are considered world leaders in their field.
These assessments will enable us to assess an individual’s answers against statistically reliable profiles of other persons who have been successful in the chosen occupation. This is a far more reliable method of determining suitability rather than some other quite subjective and traditional methods.
