PRIVACY STATEMENT

You must view our privacy statement below and state that you have read it before going on to submit your personal information to our employment register.

If you do not provide us with all the personal information requested by our employment register, your interest may not be registered, or your application may be considered incomplete.


Terramin Australia Limited (Terramin) takes its responsibilities for managing and collecting personal information seriously.  Terramin is bound by and complies with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the National Privacy Principles (NPPs) set out therein in the collection, storage and use of personal information.

 

The NPPs (in particular Principles 1.3 and 15) aim to ensure that individuals know who collects personal information about them, the purpose of collection and what happens to the information after it is collected.  This helps give individuals some control over the use and disclosure of information about themselves.  Further information about the NPPs can be obtained from www.privacy.gov.au.

 

This privacy statement forms part of Terramin’s Privacy Policy.  This statement describes how Terramin collects and manages the personal information it holds about individuals who may apply for employment with Terramin, or otherwise provide personal information with the intention of obtaining employment with Terramin.

 

“Personal information” is information which either directly or indirectly identifies a person.  Terramin may hold the following personal information:

 

  • name, address and telephone numbers;
  • previous employment history;
  • details of qualifications, education and training;
  • references; and
  • results from ability and personality assessments.


Personal information will be collected by Terramin, in most cases, from the individual directly. However, personal information may be collected from third parties, such as former employers or referees nominated by the individual.

Personal information collected by Terramin as described above will be used for the following purposes:

  • establishing and maintaining personnel databases and records for future employment opportunities;
  • obtaining recruitment and assessment services from third parties during the recruitment process.

Terramin may disclose your personal information on a strictly confidential basis to:

  • organisations contracted to provide selection services to Terramin, including but not limited to psychometric assessment, medical assessment, recruitment services and security clearances; and
  • former employers and referees.

Terramin will take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information it holds from misuse and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Terramin will also take such reasonable steps as are required to ensure the personal information collected and retained by it is accurate and up to date.

If, at any time, any individual believes that personal information held by Terramin about them is incorrect, incomplete or inaccurate, then they may request its amendment and Terramin will either amend the information or make a record of the individual’s comments as it considers appropriate. Any individual about whom Terramin holds personal information is entitled to access that information, on terms and conditions agreed between Terramin and the individual.
